Convert and Move Faster in the Lightning Experience Configuration Converter

Tired of selecting which objects to scan for the latest information on JavaScript buttons and actions? Instead, get the full picture by scanning each tab for relevant metadata from all objects. Moving actions and buttons one object at a time getting you down? Move them all, for all objects, all at once!

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

When: These changes will be made available on a rolling basis starting in early 2019.

Why: We’ve been listening to your feedback about the Lightning Experience Configuration Converter. The next iteration of the tool gives you a full view of your org and saves you time when making the necessary changes.

  • We replaced the settings, user impact, and refresh buttons with Scan for JavaScript Buttons and Scan for Actions and Buttons. When you scan, the tool analyzes all relevant metadata for the tab for all objects. The user impact information is also calculated. While the scan takes place, you can’t work in the other tabs. Salesforce sends you an email when the scan is finished. When you’re back in the tool, you’re greeted with an updated list of all the tab’s items.
  • Instead of moving buttons for one object at time, you can move actions and buttons for all supported objects at once. As part of this shortcut, we still remove the Mobile Smart Actions bundle and create the missing record types. To review what we’re going to update, select one or more objects, then click Move Selected. While the move takes place, you can’t work in the other tabs. You get an email when the move is finished.
