Permission Set License Required for All Health Cloud Users

Users who require access to Health Cloud data, whether it's via the user interface or the API, must have the Health Cloud Permission Set License. This has been optional until now.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience, Salesforce Classic, the Field Service Lightning app, and all versions of the mobile app in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions.

Why: The Health Cloud Permission Set License ensures that only licensed users can access your Health Cloud features. Before June 1, make sure each of your Health Cloud users has the Health Cloud Permission Set License.

Who: Most Community participants are not affected. Patients, caregivers, and other customers are already covered by one of your org’s Community licenses. If you have community members who need access to Health Cloud objects, your Salesforce representative can help you determine the PSLs you need.

When: You’ll see the change first in Sandbox Preview orgs in early May. The new requirement takes effect in your production org when the Summer ’18 release rolls out in early June.

How: Go to Setup | Company Settings | Company Information | Permission Set Licenses and verify that the right number of Health Cloud licenses have been added to your org. Then go to Setup | Permission Sets and assign them to users.
