Use Salesforce Two-Factor Authentication with Microsoft® Outlook®

Provide an extra layer of security when sales reps connect Outlook to Salesforce by requiring a username, password, and a third security component, such as a code. Two-factor authentication isn’t new to Salesforce. However, the Outlook integration now respects the two-factor authentication that you configure for Salesforce.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Essentials, Group, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

When: This feature is available after all Salesforce instances are upgraded to Spring ’19. Go to trust.salesforce.com for exact dates.

Who: Two-factor authentication is available for any Salesforce users who use the integration with Outlook. However, due to limitations in Outlook for Mac, we don’t support two-factor authentication for Outlook for Mac users.
