Manage Service Crews Faster (Beta)

Click less, see more! The new drag-and-drop crew management tool lets you easily build and update service crews to accommodate a fast-changing appointment schedule. Quickly find and add members with the right skills, adjust crew membership dates to match appointment times, and view all crews’ schedules and members in one place.
Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions with the Field Service Lightning managed package installed.

Salesforce doesn’t guarantee general availability of this feature within any particular time frame or at all, and we can discontinue it at any time. It’s offered as is and isn’t supported, and Salesforce has no liability for any harm or damage arising out of or in connection with it. All restrictions, Salesforce reservation of rights, obligations concerning the Services, and terms for related Non-Salesforce Applications and Content apply equally to your use of this feature. You can provide feedback and suggestions for crew management in the IdeaExchange and through the Trailblazer Community. For information about enabling this feature in your organization, contact Salesforce.

Who: To access crew management, users need the FSL Admin Permissions or FSL Dispatcher Permissions permission set. They also need access to crew management Visualforce pages and Apex classes. For details, see Set Up Crew Management (Beta) (can be outdated or unavailable during release preview).

Why: Manually managing crew membership from the Service Crew Members related list on service crew records can take time away from other field service tasks. If your service crews change frequently, work faster by viewing and updating membership for all your crews with the crew management tool.

  • Filter crews by service territory, and filter service resources by skills
  • View each crew’s schedule and members
  • Find and add crew members based on skill requirements
  • View each service resource’s skills, service crew memberships, and service territory memberships
  • View details for each service appointment and its parent record, including crew size and skill requirements
  • Drag resources onto a crew to add them to the crew for the dates shown, or drag them onto an appointment to add them to the crew for the span of the appointment
Note

Note

The crew management tool only shows crews with an active service resource of type Crew.

How: To let users access crew management, either embed the Crew Management custom Lightning component in a Lightning page or create a Crew Management Visualforce tab.
